What happens with books from a different library system that I've returned to DCPL?

Answer

As a courtesy, we will make every effort to return items belonging to our reciprocal libraries (Prince George's County, Montgomery County, and Northern Virginia). However, we ultimately assume no responsibility for non-DCPL materials. Customers should contact the owning system to RENEW the materials—-they may incur fines or bills because items could be overdue by the time they reach their  home libraries.

To retrieve the item to return it yourself, try contacting the location where it was accidentally dropped off.
